Timothy Ellis Cole, (b. 1982, USA)

Tim Ellis Cole creates detailed, linear murals, paintings and illustrations that evoke a sense of the environment's dynamic impact on our aesthetic sensibilities and experience.  The innate forms and patterns Cole creates are all impacted by what and where he may be at the time as well as where he's been. This relationship between creative content and environment defines the moniker, "Partner Projects Studio.” While often working alone, symbiosis with every bit of environmental stimuli is very much a partnership.  Early influences from NY/NJ skateboard culture are still seen in work just as easily as the present influence of raising kids a block from the beach.  Frequent use of found materials bring the environment physically to the the art it influences.  Cole explored this in a recent project screen printing directly on salvaged cedar shingles from the Kennedy Compound and creating unique, mixed media installations from the odd cuts.  Christopher White noted “Cole has ridden his artwork from the skatepark to the Kennedy Compound” in the 2017 issue of Cape Cod Art annual.  Zane Fischer, former Art Critic of the Santa Fe Reporter, described Cole's work as "clearly prolific" in a review of Cole's first art show in 2004.  Cole continues to produce abundant work from his home studio on Cape Cod.

I'm an independent artist working out of Partner Projects Studio on Cape Cod where I live with my wife, Jennie, and our kids, Hart and Mackinac.  My work is inspired by all that I've seen and evolves as my surroundings shape my perspective in time.  The ocean brings great things to our life and my artwork here, just as my years in the high desert of Northern New Mexico and my skateboarding youth in the NY/NJ metro area had prior.  I try to focus on getting by creating work that feels significant to me and doing commission work for businesses and individuals that value the natural world and all who inhabit it.  Public art and private murals have become my studios focus thanks to the liberating jump from paper to walls.  The movement in creating work much larger than me has been a life changing experience.

Recent work has included a prolonged project creating art on artifacts from the Kennedy Compound, 300 unique mixed media paintings on demolition debris for Red Bull Media House, Public and Private murals, a 35 painting exhibit ("Arise from Nothing") at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, mentoring and mural painting with critically at-risk youth at Robert F. Kennedy Children's Actions Corps and all kinds of other fun projects.  Always looking for opportunities to try new things, so never hesitate to bring an idea my way.  I'm just as happy creating an illustration for wedding invitations or tshirt graphics as I am painting murals and everything in between.  Hand-pulled prints and apparel are always available here at the studio along with a mix of unique paintings.  Studio visits are always encouraged.
